Prior to starting the Timing Engine, some basic configurations are needed to define the clock, the
mode of operation and user deployment scenario. These basic configurations are provided inside the
box at the top of the Home page.
(PTP) Profile dropdown selections
• Default profile (1588_V2)
• Telecom profile
o G8275.1 (frequency + phase, L2 multicast, requires full on-path timing network
support)
o G8275.2 (frequency + phase, L3 unicast, for partial timing network)
o G8265.1 (frequency only from packet network)
• Power profile
o Power_V1 (IEEE C37.238-2011)
o Power_V2 (IEEE C37.238-2017)
o Power Utility (IEC61850-9-3:2016)
• SMPTE profile
o ST 2059-2:2015 - SMPTE Profile for Use of IEEE-1588 Precision Time Protocol in
Professional Broadcast Applications.
