Wireless Switch Utility
<Only for model with the combination of wireless LAN/Bluetooth/wireless modem>
When you are using all or any of wireless LAN, Bluetooth and wireless modem, you can turn them on/off together or sepa-
rately using Wireless Switch Utility.
z When you are using only one of wireless LAN/Bluetooth/wireless modem
• Wireless LAN (Î page 53)
• Bluetooth (Î page 57)
• Wireless modem (Refer to the instruction manual of the wireless device.)
1 Slide the wireless switch (A) to turn on / off the wireless
devices.
z The Wireless Switch Utility icon on the notification area:
• : All or any of the wireless devices is(are) on.
• : All of the wireless devices are off.
• : All of the wireless devices are disabled in the Setup Utility (Î page
62).
z In the default setting, turning on the wireless switch will turn on all devices.
z To turn on/off each device and IEEE802.11a (5 GHz wireless LAN) separately
Select or on the notification area to display the popup menu, and select the on/off setting.
To check the wireless communication status
A Place the cursor over the Wireless Switch Utility icon ( or ) on the notification area.
A tooltip appears.
NOTE
z To use wireless communication, set the wireless device setting ([Wireless LAN] / [Bluetooth] / [Wireless Modem]) to
[Enable] (default) in the [Advanced] menu of the Setup Utility (Î page 62).
z It may take some time to turn off wireless communication after switching the wireless switch to off.
z The Wireless Switch Utility icon ( or ) indicates the on/off status of wireless LAN and/or Bluetooth and/or
wireless modem, not the setting of IEEE802.11a.
z If IEEE802.11a is enabled or disabled while the computer is connected to an IEEE802.11b/g access point, the connec-
tion will be temporarily interrupted.
