Changing the password for
feature programming via
remote operation

1. MMENUN A MBNM1NM5NM5N A MSETN
2. Enter the current password. A MSETN
R The default password is 1234.
3. Enter a new 4-digit password using 0–9. A MSETN
4. Enter the new password again. A MSETN A MMENUN
Note:
R It is recommended that you change this password from the default
password.
R This password is also used for feature programming via a web browser
(KX-MB2090, LAN connection only).
Setting the maintenance time

The unit will automatically activate for self-maintenance.
1. MMENUN A MBNM1NM5NM8N A MSETN
2. Enter the maintenance start time.
R The default time is 12:00.
R If you selected 12-hour time entry (page 21), press MHN repeatedly to
select AM or PM.
R If you selected 24-hour time entry (page 21), the time is set using 24-hour
time entry.

Note:
R Do not activate the unit during self-maintenance.
Resetting all features (and
deleting all data in memory)

Before you dispose of, transfer or return the product, activate this feature to
reset all programmable features and to delete all data stored in memory.
The following will be deleted.
Phonebook (or caller information)
Fax transmission data (journal report and faxes received in memory)
Email address (KX-MB2090 only)
M0N NO (default)
M1N YES
R Disconnect the telephone line cord, USB cable and LAN cable (KX-MB2090
only) before activating this feature.
To reset all features:
1. MMENUN A MBNM1NM5NM9N
2. Press M1N to select YES. A MSETN
3. Press M1N to select YES. A MSETN
Setting the ringer pattern

Setting the beep sounds and
keytones

M0N OFF: Deactivate this feature.
M1N ON (default): You will hear confirmation/error beep sounds and keytones.
Note:
R Even if this feature is set to OFF, the unit beeps in the following cases:
the memory reception alert setting (feature #437 on page 64) is
activated.
the top cover is opened.
