Basic Operation
Projecting
Check the connections of the peripheral devices, installation of the projection lens (
Æ
page 29), and connection
of the power cord (
Æ
page 32) and switch on the power (
Æ
page 33) to start the projector. Select the input signal
and adjust the image.
Selecting the input signal
Select an input signal.
The image selected with <INPUT SELECT> button is
projected. (

Attention
Images may not be projected properly depending on the
z
connected device and DVD, video tape, etc. to be played.
Select a system format that is suitable for the input signal
using the [SYSTEM SELECTOR] in the [PICTURE] menu
(
Æ
page 47).
Check the aspect ratios of the screen and the image and
z
select the optimum aspect ratio using [ASPECT] in the
[PICTURE] menu (
Æ
page 48).
How to adjust the focus,
zoom and shift
Adjust the projected image with the 1 )
lens shift lever.
See “Lens shift and positioning” on page 36.
Adjust the focus and the projected 2)
image size.
Turn the focus lever and zoom
J
lever to adjust the image.
You can conrm the adjusted
J
effect with the TEST PATTERN
in OPTION menu. See “TEST
PATTERN” on page 71.
Note
Do not touch the air exhaust port as this may cause
z
burns or injury.
If keystone distortion occurs, see
z
“KEYSTONE” on page
50.
If you adjust the focus, you may need to adjust the size
z
of the image by moving the zoom lever again.
It is recommended that the images are projected
z
continuously for at least 30 minutes before the focus is
adjusted.
