DigiplexNE DGP-NE96 - 48 - Programming Guide
POWER UNIT CONSUMPTION TABLE
STEP 1: Using Table 4, calculate the total number of power units (PU) required by each device, module, and accessory in the system. Please take into
account devices connected to the control panel’s PGM outputs. Since the BELL outpu t has its o wn po wer sup ply, do not includ e the sirens
conn ect ed to it in th e calculat io n
STEP 2:
If the Gr and Tota l is l ess than 700PU, go to step 3. If th e val ue i s greater, you wil l req uir e an extern al power sup ply ( see Exter nal Power Supply
Connecti ons dr awin g on p age 46) to provide the additional power needed. Proceed with ste p 3 a nd refer to the example (Sa mpl e Power Requi re ment
Cal cul ati ons dr awin g) on pag e 46.
STEP 3: Due t o t he deg rada tion of a powe r sig na l over lo ng distan ces (if t his were the case , we recommend con ne cting a Paradox Power Supply
Mo du le , DGP 2-PS1 7), EACH lengt h or run of wire in the syst em can support only a specific number of power units (PU). Using Table 5,
determine how many power units each length of wire can support. Please note that the total number of power units (PU) can never surpass
700 PU.
