HPAC Cell Cleaning

Estimated time required
Cleaning time: Approximately 10 minutes per cell, chute cleaning time will depend upon
the pharmacy cleaning process
Drying time: 24 hours
Procedure
The process consists of the following steps:
•Preparing the cell
Cleaning the cell
Rinsing the cell
Air-drying the cell for 24 hours
If applicable, cleaning the chute
Completing the cell drying process
Reassembling the cell
Replenishing the cell
1. Prepare the cell for cleaning:
Note Leave the unit on and the Mini applications running.
1.1 Obtain a pair of gloves from the cleaning kit and put them on.
1.2 For a locking cell: Unlock the cell and open the cell door.
1.3 Remove the cell from the unit.
Note Do not delete the cell from the system. You will need to access the cell again
during this process.
1.4 If you will be placing the same NDC in the cell, note the cell settings: nozzle
height, nozzle width, and baffle height.
1.5 Remove the pills from the cell. When emptying the cell, lightly shake it to
dislodge any pills that may be wedged in the nozzle throat.
