1.12 Remove the nozzle splash guard.
1.12.a An adhesive layer connects the guard to the cell. Starting at one
corner, carefully push the edge of the guard toward the center of the
nozzle to loosen the adhesive and lift the guard up and away from the
cell. Continue this process until you can grasp the guard and pull it
away from the cell.

1.12.b Dispose of the nozzle splash guard according to pharmacy policy.
Note You will replace the splash guard you removed here with a new
one later in the procedure. A new splash guard is included in the
kit.
1.13 If you are changing the drug in the cell, remove the drug label on the door of the
cell.
