Search and sorting of already Installed lines (two-pole application)
Note: The measurement must be performed only with non-energized circuits.
Connect all wires of the individual cables to be sorted together (twisted). Connect each of the red
cables of a transmitter with a wire of the cable and the black cable with another wire of the same
cable. The more transmitters you use, the more lines can be tested simultaneously (up to 7).
If several transmitters are used simultaneously, each transmitter must have its own signal coding.
Move the receiver a along the twisted ends of the cables and the displayed signal code identifies
the respective lines.
Searching for cable breaks (application without transmitter)
You can use this meter for detecting cable breaks in power cords, cable extensions and many
more.
Connect the defective line with a live wall outlet and turn on the receiver function NCV (Non-
Contact Voltage).
Follow the line until the signal disappears. The cable break should be located exactly at this point.
In order that both internal wires are tested, turn the power plug in the socket 180 degrees and
repeat the test.
Note: The height of the bar graph does not allow any conclusions about the exact line voltage. Use
a suitable instrument for voltage measurements such as a multimeter.
