Scan fault
The byte indicates an OR link for all the faults detected during the scanning process.
Example: If one field device is detected as Disappeared and another as Mismatched,
these two bits are set at the same time. The bit by bit coded information is shown in
the following table:
Bit Status Meaning Action
7 Reserved Reserved.
6 Searching Field device is searched for due
to the Disappeared report.
• Check the cabling.
• Check the field device.
5 Disappeared Field device is no longer
responding.
4 Appeared Field device is responding
again.
Check the cabling.
3 Mismatched Another field device has
responded instead.
Field device was replaced with
another field device. Check the
field device, rebuild
signal loops.
