Conditions Which Generate This Code:
The Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects the
following conditions:
•
The ECM has been powered for 2 seconds.
•
The signal v
oltage from the intake manifold
pressure sensor is above 4.95 VDC for at least 2
seconds.
•
This diagnostic code can be caused by an open
circuit or a short to another power source.
System Response:
If equipp
ed, the diagnostic light will be on. The
diagnostic code will be logged.
Thedataf
or the intake manifold pressure will be set
to a maximum valid pressure for 2 seconds. The
ECM will then flag the intake manifold pressure as
being in
valid. A default value is then used for the
intake manifold pressure.
Possibl
e Performance Effect:
For engines with an electronically controlled
wasteg
ate, the current for the wastegate solenoid
will be set to a default value while this code is active.
This will cause the engine to have poor acceleration.
The de
fault setting will prevent any overpressure in
the intake manifold which could be caused by an
overspeed of the turbocharger.
Troubleshooting:
This
diagnostic code will detect excessively high
voltage from the intake manifold pressure sensor.
Perf
orm the following diagnostic procedure: “Engine
Pressure Sensor Open or Short Circuit - Test”
Res
ults:
•
OK – STOP.

Co
nditions Which Generate This Code:
The Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects the
f
ollowing conditions:
•
The signal voltage from the intake manifold
pressure senso

2 seconds.
•
The ECM has bee
n powered for 2 seconds.

•
The keyswitch is in the “ON” position so that the
ECM is energ
ized.
System Response:
If equipped, the diagnostic light will come on. The
diagnostic code will be logged.
The data for the intake manifold pressure will be set
to a m aximum valid pressure for 2 seconds. The
ECM will th
en flag the intake manifold pressure as
being invalid. A default value is then used for the
intake manifold pressure.

Troubleshooting:
This diagnostic code will detect excessively low
voltage from the intake manifold pressure sensor.
Perform the following diagnostic procedure: “Engine
Pressure Sensor Open or Short Circuit - Test”
Results:
•
OK – S
