Stitch width adjustment
Adjust the stitch width from 4.2 mm to
6.2 mm according to the kind of fabric.
Typically, wider stitch widths are used for
heavier fabrics.
The standard width is 4.5 mm.
Open the side cover to adjust the width.
• To increase the stitch width, turn the stitch
width adjustment dial to a larger number.
• To decrease the stitch width, turn the stitch
width adjustment dial to a smaller number.
This figure shows that the stitch width
between the left needle and the edge of the
fabric is 4.5 mm.
Stitch length adjustment
The machine is pre-set to 2.5 mm stitch
length for regular seaming and overlock. You
may adjust the stitch length from 1 mm
(narrow rolled hemming) to 5 mm by
adjusting the stitch length adjustment lever.
For normal overlock, set the stitch length
from 2.5 mm to 4.4 mm. A stitch length
less than 2.5 mm is used only for rolled
hemming.
Adjust the stitch length according to the
fabrics and threads (see table on p. 20).
