3-6 Corded overlock
Corded overlock can be used to strengthen
stitches when joining elastic fabrics such as
knits.
There are two ways to sew corded overlock.
1. Thread cord through the hole on the front
of the foot. Place a slightly wide cord or tape
(about 3 mm) under the right needle and
start to sew catching cord or tape in stitching.
2. To sew a narrow cord, positioning it on the
edge of the fabric encased in the overlock
stitch.
Taping a seam can prevent knit fabrics from
stretching and also stabilize the seams.
