Basting stitch (model
6232)
With
key

"basting"
you can baste a
gar-
ment
before
trying
it
on.
When
you press
the
foot
control
the
machine
will
only make one
stitch. For each
further
stitch you have
to
press
the
foot
control each
time
.
- Lower
the
bottom
feed and
switch
off
the
top
feed.
-
Place
the
fabric under
the
sewing foot.
-
Sew
one stitch, then pull
the
fabric
the
required
amount
to
the
rear.
- Repeat
this
as
many
times
as you need
to
finish
the
seam.
TIP: To prevent
the
fabric layers
from
shifting,
insert dress pins crosswise
to
the
basting
position.
Light
fabrics are easier
to
baste
with
long
straight
stitches (6 mm).
In
this
case the
bottom
feed need
not
be lowered.

Straight stitch
Program G
is
the
basic
straight
stitch. The
stitch length can be increased
up
to
6
mm
as
required. It is easier
to
do some sewing
jobs
by changing the needle position, e.g.
top-stit-
ching a collar
or
sewing in a zipper. You can
select up
to
15
different
needle positions (see
page
31)
.
Please ensure
that
the
needle is at its highest
position when adjusting its setting.
