Shell-edging
Shell-edging is especially attracti
ve
on thi
n,
soft fabrics such
as
si
lk
and viscose. It is often
used
as
an
edging on underwear. The higher
the
needle thread tension, the deeper the shell
edge feed.
-
Serge the fabric edge and iron the seam
allowance to
the
left.
- Take care that
the
fabric only runs half
underneath
the
presser
foot
while sewing.
This intensifies the effect
of
the shell-
edging.

By

an

seam. A fine fabric

can
also
be used instead
of
a woolen thread.
