Chapter 1Basic Operation NAVI/AV
Basic Navigation
The most frequently used function is the Address
Search, in which the address is specified and the
destination searched. This section describes how
to use the Address Search and the basics of
using the navigation system. Also, the method of
playing CDs is used as an example of switching
to the audio source.
For safety reasons, you cannot use some of
these basic navigation functions while
your vehicle is in motion. To enable these
functions, you must stop in a safe place
and apply the parking brake (see page 12
Interlock for details).
Basic flow of operation
1 Park your vehicle in a safe place, and
apply the parking brake.
2 Insert the Pioneer DVD Map Disc to
the DVD-ROM loading slot.
3 Press the DEST button to display the
Main menu.
4 Select the method of searching for
your destination.
5 Enter the information about your desti-
nation.
6 Your navigation system sets the route
to your destination, and the map of
your surroundings appears.
7 After releasing the parking brake,
drive in accordance with the naviga-
tion information, subject to the impor-
tant safety instructions noted on page
11 to 13.
