Reassembly
1. Inspect the pinion shaft bushing for wear.
2. Replace all O-rings, seals, and worn components.
3. Install the pinion shaft into the gearcase housing.
Install the pinion shaft cover and torque the cover
bolts to specification.
Input Cover Bolt:
25 ft-lbs (34 Nm)
4. Install the original shim (s), thrust button, and thrust
button shims into the gearcase cover.
