TRANSMISSION LUBRICATION
The transmission lubricant level should be checked and changed in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
S Be sure vehicle is level before proceeding.
S Check vent hose to be sure it is routed properly and unobstructed.
S Follow instructions on following pages to check / change transmission lubricant.
TRANSMISSION LEVEL CHECK/CHANGE
To check the level:
1. Remove dipstick and wipe clean.
2. Reinstall dipstick completely, remove and check the
level. Add the proper lubricant as required to bring
level into operating range as shown.

1. Remove skid plate (if necessary).
2. Place a drain pan beneath the transmission oil drain
plug area.
3. Loosen jam nut (A).
4. T urn adjuster bolt (B) in to allow the removal of drain
plug.
5. Remove the drain plug and wipe the magnetic end
clean to remove accumulated metallic filings.
6. After the oil has drained completely, install a new
sealing washer and install the drain plug. Torque to
14 ft. lbs. (19.3 Nm).
7. T urn adjuster bolt (B) out until it touches the frame,
and then an additional 1/2 turn.
8. T ighten the jam nut securely while holding the
adjuster bolt.
9. Add the proper lubricant through the dipstick hole
until the oil level is between the upper and lower
limits. Do not overfill.
10. Check for leaks.
