Why does my Polycom VSX start in the software update screen?
    • K
      Kayla SanchezAug 12, 2025
If your Polycom Conference System starts in the software update screen, it may be because the power switch was pressed for too long (VSX 7000e, VSX 8000). To power up the system, press and release the power button. Alternatively, the system software might be corrupted or not loaded properly, so try loading the system software from your computer.

      William TaylorAug 23, 2025
If you encounter an error message when placing an IP (H.323) call on your Polycom Conference System, verify that the LAN cable is connected properly and replace the system’s LAN cable if it is bad. Also, check your IP configuration and contact the gatekeeper/gateway administrator, if the IP Gateway/Gatekeeper is not operating or is not configured correctly. Use the PING test (System > Diagnostics > Network > PING) to determine whether the far site is accessible to your system and whether the far site is an H.323 device. Register with the gatekeeper.

Why is the audio not in stereo on my Polycom VSX?
    • M
      Mackenzie KingAug 31, 2025
If the audio is not in stereo on your Polycom Conference System, check that the microphones at the sending site are placed correctly. Ensure the speakers at the receiving site are about 60° apart as seen from the middle of the seating area, and test both speakers using the test on Diagnostics > Audio > Speaker Test. If the receiving site is not set up for stereo sound, advise the people at the receiving site that the sound will be in stereo only if the system is set up for stereo. Try the call at a higher speed.

What to do if Polycom VSX displays network congestion message during ISDN call?
    • A
      Anne GravesSep 4, 2025
If your Polycom Conference System displays a message indicating network congestion when placing an ISDN call immediately after starting the system, wait about three minutes and try the call again. This issue can occur if the system uses a PRI E1 network interface module connected to an Adtran Atlas 800 Plus module, which requires channel restarts after power on.

How do I fix ISDN line status icons not disappearing on my Polycom Conference System?
    • K
      Kimberly AllenSep 8, 2025
If ISDN Line Status icons do not go away on your Polycom Conference System, check the ISDN line connections. Verify the ISDN numbers with your service provider and ensure your ISDN line is provisioned for Voice/Data. Power off the system, wait five seconds, and power it back on. If using a Quad BRI network interface, install an NT-1 device between your network interface module and the ISDN connection, unless you are connecting to a PBX S/T interface, in which case you should connect the system directly to the PBX S/T connection. On the Auto Detect SPIDs page, select the Clear icon, and then select the Start icon to automatically detect the new SPIDs.
