c) Alternately clean the end of the connector using a
cartridge cleaner or card cleaner.
Remove the service adapter.
Reinsert the connector in the panel adapter.
When you have finished cleaning the connectors, put on the
cover and screw it back into place.
Continue to clean the ferrule (see “To clean the adapter” on
page 37)

To clean the adapter
If you are using stick cleaners,

Take a fresh stick cleaner
If you need to wet clean the adapter to remove heavy dirt, wet
the stick cleaner with ethanol or propanol.
Use a small pointed object to press down the dust protector
inside the adapter.
Insert the stick cleaner into the adapter.
Rotate the stick cleaner 3 or 4 turns.
Remove the stick cleaner and dispose of it.
