15. 1 BAT TERY PA C K F OR M ON IT O RIN G PE N
Battery pack serves as external battery source for Monitoring pen devices. The external battery ensures powering of
devices during long-term experiments.
15.1.1 STANDARD BATTERY PACK
Standard battery pack (Fig. 31) is intended for operation within temperature range from +10 ºC to +40 ºC. The operating
time is up to 2 years (QY measurement every 1 hour). The pack includes battery case with rechargeable sealed lead acid
battery (12Ah), charger, two types of cables (serial and device) and serial convertor.

Connectors of Battery Pack (Fig. 32):
Device (as FluorPen in Fig. 32)
Serves for connection between Monitoring Pen and the battery. This connection is necessary for Pen operation and data
download.
Serial
The connector enables communication between Monitoring Pen and PC.
Charger
The connector is serving for charging the battery.
Please note that Monitoring Pen devices equipped with battery pack do not have internal battery,
therefore it is not possible to use them separately without the battery pack.
