Overview

The RATH SmartRescue 5 & 10 is an emergency communication base station designed for attendant-monitored signaling devices, compliant with UL Standard 2017 and UL 60950-1 Section 6.4. Manufactured by RATH Communications, a company with over 35 years of experience in emergency communication, the SmartRescue system is built for reliability and ease of use in various applications, including elevators and areas of refuge.

Function Description:

The SmartRescue base station serves as a central hub for emergency phones, allowing for two-way communication between the base station, connected emergency phones, and external rescue services. It supports both direct offsite calling from emergency phones and a mode where calls first stop at the SmartRescue base station before being routed offsite if unanswered. The system features visual indicators (LEDs) to show call status (in progress, on hold), power status, and battery charge level. An optional Machine Room Phone (2300-630SM) can be connected to the SmartRescue, enabling calls to any of the connected emergency phones. The system also includes a relay (TB1) that activates when an emergency phone is triggered, which can be connected to a strobe or other notification means.

  • Emergency Phone Calling SmartRescue: An audible tone will sound at the SmartRescue, and the corresponding green LED will light. Lift handset to establish two-way communication.
  • Emergency Phone Calling Offsite (via SmartRescue): If the call is not answered at the SmartRescue, the emergency phone will hang up and dial the second programmed number. The Rescue Services LED will light, indicating the outside line is active. SmartRescue can join the conversation or place the phone on hold to speak only with rescue services.
