What to do if booms raise but will not lower or lower too slowly during operation of Raven Farm Equipment?
    • A
      April AvilaAug 20, 2025
If your booms raise but do not lower or lower too slowly, it could be due to several reasons. First, verify that the PWM frequency setting in the Raven OS is correct (60 Hz for square coil valves, 250 Hz for round coil valves). You might also need to increase the speed setting or gradually decrease the minimum pressure percent setting until the booms lower at the desired rate. If you are using PowerGlide Plus, gradually decrease the set pressure by 10 until the booms lower at the desired rate. Check the inner and outer sensor connections and switch if necessary. Inspect the AutoBoom hydraulic lines and remove orifices or clear restrictions in the circuit if necessary. Also, check the sensors and cabling and replace if necessary.

What to do if booms overreact or oscillate during Raven Farm Equipment calibration?
    • C
      calderonherbertAug 22, 2025
If booms overreact or oscillate during calibration, retry calibration of the system over open ground or consistent crop canopy. Check the inner and outer sensor connections and switch if necessary. Check the sensors and cabling and replace as necessary. Decrease the speed and sensitivity settings. If you have a pull-type sprayer, decrease the hydraulic flow to the AutoBoom circuit remote. Reinstall orifices into the AutoBoom valve.

What to do if booms fully raise during Raven Farm Equipment calibration and do not lower?
    • A
      ashieldsAug 25, 2025
If the booms fully raise during calibration and do not lower, check the inner and outer sensor connections and switch if necessary. Check cabling to the sensors, verify the sensor surface is clean and verify no obstructions or boom components are interfering with sensor readings. Also, check the hydraulic connections. If you have a pull-type sprayer, reverse the direction of the hydraulic lever. Check the connections to the AutoBoom valve to ensure the harness cable connections are inserted to the correct ports. Decrease the speed and sensitivity settings. If you have a pull-type sprayer, decrease the hydraulic flow to the AutoBoom circuit remote.

How to resolve Raven Farm Equipment booms falling to the ground during calibration?
    • P
      Pamela MitchellAug 26, 2025
If the booms fall to the ground during calibration, check the connections on the AutoBoom valve to ensure the harness cable connections are inserted into the correct ports. Also, check the hydraulic connections. If you have a pull-type sprayer, reverse the direction of the hydraulic lever. Turn the set screws in the proportional valve to verify the booms raise during calibration. If booms raise, troubleshoot the electrical system and/or AutoBoom node. If the booms do not raise, troubleshoot the hydraulic system and/or AutoBoom valve. If you have a pull-type sprayer, verify the hydraulics are activated and ensure hydraulic flow going to the AutoBoom valve.

Why left and right booms do not move during Raven Farm Equipment calibration?
    • C
      Catherine TurnerAug 28, 2025
If the left and right booms do not move during calibration, check the connections on the AutoBoom valve to ensure the harness cable connectors are inserted in the correct ports. Trace the hydraulic lines connected to the AutoBoom valve and verify they are properly routed and tightened. Manually raise the booms and lower the center rack to ensure the pressure is sufficient in the hydraulic system for calibration. Check the transducer connections to the AutoBoom harness cable. Check the AutoBoom harness power and ground connections and the node connectors.

Why is the pressure alarm always on in my Raven Farm Equipment?
    • C
      Christina ArellanoAug 30, 2025
If the pressure alarm is always on, the pressure alarm setting for PowerGlide Plus mode may be set too low; increase the pressure alarm setting. Check pressure (P) and tank (T) lines connected to AutoBoom valve and switch if necessary. Inspect the transducer and verify the pressure reading on the Diagnostics screen. Replace the pressure transducer if necessary. Inspect the cable for damage and repair or replace as needed. Raise the booms, lower the center section, and re- engage AutoBoom.

What to do if objects under one boom makes the opposite side react on Raven Farm Equipment?
    • M
      Maria AdamsSep 1, 2025
If objects under one boom cause the opposite side to react, check the inner and outer sensor connections and reverse if necessary. Check the connections on the AutoBoom valve to ensure the harness cable connections are inserted into the correct ports. Gradually increase the stability setting until the opposite side barely reacts to boom movement. Inspect the proportional valve and clean and/or replace if necessary.

    Karen GomezSep 2, 2025
Why are left and right Raven Farm Equipment boom pressures not displayed on the correct side?
    • S
      Sara GonzalesSep 3, 2025
If the left and right boom pressures are not displayed on the correct side, it may be because the left and right pressure transducer connections are reversed; switch the left and right transducer connections on the AutoBoom valve. Alternatively, the left and right hydraulic hose connections may be reversed; switch the left cylinder (LC) and right cylinder (RC) hydraulic hoses connected to the AutoBoom valve.

How to troubleshoot Raven Farm Equipment booms that will not enable with the down-tap of the machine functions?
    • J
      Jodi AndersonSep 5, 2025
If the booms will not enable with the down-tap of the machine functions, check the cabling and use the Diagnostics screen to help determine the proper wiring set up. Use a multi-meter to verify +12 V is provided to the machine coils when the function is activated. Calibrate the AutoBoom system. Inspect the cable for damage and repair or replace as necessary. Replace the AutoBoom node.

Why are ultrasonic sensor heights displaying incorrect sensor locations on my Raven Farm Equipment?
    • C
      Christopher CruzSep 7, 2025
If the ultrasonic sensor heights are displaying incorrect sensor locations, it could be because the left and right sensor connections are reversed; switch the left and right outer sensor connections on the AutoBoom harness cable. Alternatively, the outer sensors may be connected to the inner sensor connections; disconnect the sensors from the AutoBoom harness cable and connect the outer sensor connectors to the sensors.
