separatebattery.
•Raymarinespecifiedcablesareused.
•Cablesarenotcutorextended,unlessdoingsoisdetailedintheinstallationmanual.
Note:
Whereconstraintsontheinstallationpreventanyoftheaboverecommendations,alwaysensure
themaximumpossibleseparationbetweendifferentitemsofelectricalequipment,toprovidethe
bestconditionsforEMCperformancethroughouttheinstallation.
RFinterference
Certainthird-partye xternalelectricalequipmentcancauseRadioFrequency(RF)interferencewith
GNSS(GPS),AISorVHFdevices,iftheexternalequipmentisnotadequatelyinsulatedandemits
excessivelevelsofelectromagneticinterference(EMI).
SomecommonexamplesofsuchexternalequipmentincludeLEDlighting(e.g.:navigationlights,
searchlightsandfloodlights,interiorandexteriorlights)andterrestrialTVtuners.
Tominimizeinterferencefromsuchequipment:
•KeepitasfarawayfromGNSS(GPS),AISorVHFproductsandtheirantennasaspossible.
•Ensurethatanypowercablesforexternalequipmentarenotentangledwiththepowerordata
cablesforthesedevices.
•ConsiderfittingoneormorehighfrequencysuppressionferritestotheEMI-emittingdevice.The
ferrite(s)shouldberatedtobeeffectiveintherange100MHzto2.5GHz,andshouldbefitted
tothepowercableandanyothercablesexitingtheEMI-emittingdevice,ascloseaspossibleto
thepositionwherethecableexitsthedevice.
