ThisproductisNOTapprovedforuseinhazardous/flammableatmospheres.DoNOTinstallina
hazardous/flammableatmosphere(suchasinanengineroomornearfueltanks).
7.3Locationrequirements—EV–1andEV–2
Theinstallationlocationmusttakeintoaccountthefollowingrequirements:
•Theunitcanbeinstalledaboveorbelowdecks.
•Theunitmustbemountedonahorizontalandlevelsurface.Theunitmaybemounteduprightor
upside-down,buttheunitmustbelevelwithin5ºofpitchand5ºofroll(comparedwiththevessel’s
neutralpositionwhenatrestandnormallyloaded).

•Theunitcanbemountedonaverticalsurfacesuchasabulkheadormastetc,usingthesupplied
bracket.
•Theunitlocationmustbeatleast1m(3ft.)awayfromanysourceofmagneticinterference,such
ascompassesandelectricalcables.
•Choosealocationwheretheunitwillbesafefromphysicaldamageandexcessivevibration.
•Choosealocationwheretheunitwillnotbesubjectedtoaloadorforce.
•Mountawayfromanysourceofheatorpotentialflammablehazards,suchasfuelvapor.
•TheunitshouldbemountedinalocationwherethediagnosticsLEDisviewable.
•TheunitmustbemountedwiththeLED‘arrow’onthetopoftheunitpointingtowardsthevessel’s
bowandmustbeinparallelalignmentwiththelongitudinalaxis(centerline)ofthevessel.
