    • J
      John ShafferAug 26, 2025
To ensure your Raymarine Radio is powered on, hold the Power button for at least 3 seconds. If you're using a handset, it has its own power button on the top edge; press and hold it for 3 seconds until the display lights up. Also, check the fuse inline with the power cable and make sure it's rated correctly (10 A). If it's blown, replace it with a new 10 A fuse. Check the power cable connector is fully inserted and locked. Inspect the power supply cable and connectors for damage or corrosion, replacing them if needed. Verify the vessel’s battery voltage and the condition of the battery terminals and power supply cables, ensuring they are secure, clean, and free of corrosion.

What to do if my Raymarine RAY91 has no GPS fix?
    • J
      Jay LynchAug 27, 2025
To get a position fix on your Raymarine Radio, ensure you have a GNSS (GPS) receiver connected. Your product may include an internal GNSS (GPS) receiver, if not then an external GNSS (GPS) receiver such as the RS150 is required. If using an external antenna, make sure it's connected to the GNSS (GPS) / GA150 connection. For best performance, mount external GNSS (GPS) antennas and receivers with internal antennas above decks with a clear view of the sky, away from obstructions or electrical interference. Also, check that the internal GNSS (GPS) receiver is switched on in the settings menu.

Why my Raymarine RAY91 keeps rebooting?
    • T
      Tyler NewmanAug 29, 2025
If your Raymarine Radio won't boot up and is stuck in a re-boot loop, check the power supply and connections as described in the 'Product does not turn on or keeps turning off' section. If the issue persists, the product's software may be corrupted. Try re-flashing the radio and handsets (if applicable) with the latest software from the Raymarine website. For handsets (Ray63/73/90/91 only) with older software, you might need to put it into programming mode by connecting it and pressing and holding the DISTRESS and PTT buttons together, then pressing the Power button for 3 seconds until the backlight flashes. Then, follow the update instructions on the software download page.

How to troubleshoot no audio reception on Raymarine RAY91 Radio?
    • K
      Katherine MoralesSep 1, 2025
If you're not getting any audio reception on your Raymarine Radio, first reset the radio to factory defaults via Menu > Set-up > Maintenance > System reset. Also, make sure you're using Simplex channels for testing, like channels 6, 8, 9, 10, 13, 67, 72, or 73. Verify the volume and squelch levels: set the Squelch level to zero to check for noise from the speakers, then adjust the volume. If you hear noise, adjust the squelch level until the noise stops. Note that volume control is independent on each handset and the radio itself.

If there is no audio transmission from your Raymarine Radio, try resetting the radio to factory defaults using the Maintenance menu: Menu > Set-up > Maintenance > System reset. Then, check the microphone on the fist mic or Raymic to ensure it's clear and not blocked by dirt or debris. Ensure you are using only Simplex channels for testing, such as channels 6, 8, 9, 10, 13, 67, 72, or 73. If communicating at a distance, make sure the radio is set to transmit at 25 W power by pressing the HI / LO button on the fist mic or Raymic handset and verifying the 25 W symbol is displayed.

How to enable AIS functions on Raymarine Radio?
    • M
      Mallory DavisSep 7, 2025
If the AIS functions are not available or working on your Raymarine Radio, first program your MMSI number. Note: In the United States, this MUST be programmed into the unit by an authorized dealer. Check the connection between the VHF radio and the multifunction display via SeaTalkng / NMEA, ensuring it's correctly configured. Access the VHF radio’s Set-up menu and ensure that the Network output option is set correctly. If connected via NMEA 0183, set the VHF radio’s Network output option to “0183 High Speed” and configure the MFD’s NMEA 0183 connection to 38400 baud rate. Lastly, in the VHF radio’s Set-up menu, ensure that the AIS option is set to “On”.
