Makingasafetycall
Safetycallsshouldbeusedwhenthereisanimportantnavigationalwarningormeteorological
forecast/broadcast.Safetyalertscanalsobeusedforcommunicationsduringsearchandrescue
operations.
FromtheAllshipscallmenu:Menu>DSCCalls>Allshipscall.
1.SelectSafety.
2.Selectthechannelforsubsequentcommunication.
Thecallistransmitted.OncethecallhasbeensuccessfullytransmittedSentisdisplayed
onscreenandthechannelischangedtothespecifiedchannel.
3.Pressthe
OKbutton.
4.Pressandholdthe
PTTbuttonandspeakthefollowingmessage:
SECURITE,SECURITE,SECURITE
ALLSTATIONS,ALLSTATIONS,ALLSTATIONS
ThisisMMSIofyourvessel,nameofyourvesselrepeated3times,callsignofyourvessel.
PositionY ourvessel’sposition.
Reasonforcallstatethereasonforthesafetycall.

Receivingasafetycall
Whenasafetycallisreceived:

Showinfofromtheoptionstoreviewrelevantcalldetails.

Acceptatanytimetoacceptthecall.
If auto channel change is turned on then the channel will automatically change after 10 seconds.
