Chapter 3: Setup Information
3.1 Introduction
This chapter describes the setup functions not used on a day-to-day basis but which
may be needed from time to time, to optimize the performance of ST70+.
3.2 General setup
Many operating parameters are set during commissioning and should not need to be
changed again. However, if parameters are not as you want, you can change:
The language. See below.
The vessel type. See below.
The time/date format. See below.
The local time. See below.
The method of ground wind calculation. Refer to Chapter 2: Commissioning Pro-
cedures.
The magnetic variation. Refer to Chapter 2: Commissioning Procedures.
The response rate of an instrument. Refer to Chapter 2: Commissioning Proce-
dures.
The display page layout and content. Refer to the ST70+ Operating Guide.
Other setup procedures likely to be useful on a day-to-day basis are described in your
ST70+ Operating Guide, so not repeated here. These procedures include:
Setting local time
Setting data units
Change screen colors
Setting timers
Setup Pilot View Data Boxes
Switching Instrument pages on & off
Setting Instrument page rollover
Changing the information on an Instrument page
Changing an Instrument page layout
Using timers
Setting alarms
Changing language
Any change to the language is applied across the entire ST70+ system.
To change the language used on your ST70+system:
1. At a convenient ST70+ keypad use the Select Display button to select a conve-
nient display, then press
MENU
to display the
Main menu.
2. Scroll to
Advanced options
then press
OK
to display the
Advanced options
menu.
3. Scroll to select the
Language
option, then press
OK
to display the
Language
menu.
4. Scroll to select the language you want.
