Selector lever 1
Warning light bar A lets you know
the position of lever 1.
P: Park
R: Reverse
N: Neutral
D: Automatic mode

: Indicator light showing that
the brake pedal must be
depressed so that the gear
lever may be moved out of
position P
Starting
With the lever in position P or N,
switch on the ignition.
With the brake pedal depressed (the
indicator light goes out), move the
lever out of position P.
The lever must only be engaged in
D or R when the vehicle is
stationary.The brake pedal must
be depressed and accelerator pedal
released.
For safety reasons, you must apply
the brake before pressing unlocking
button 2 to move out of P position.
Driving in automatic mode
Select position D. In most traffic
conditions, you will not have to
touch the gear selector lever again:
the gears will change automatically
at the right time and at the most
suitable engine speed because the
automatic system takes into account
the vehicle load and road contour
and adjusts itself to the particular
driving style you have chosen.
