Changing the Operation
Sound Setting (BEEP
SOUND)
During operation, the camera generates four
types of sounds: start sound, shutter release
sound, focus sound, and beep sound.
You can change the setting to mute these
operation sounds.
To change the setting of operation sound, fol-
low the steps below.
1. Turn the Mode Dial to 1

(Setup Mode).
The Setup Screen appears.
2. Press the "

" button to select
[BEEP SOUND].
3. Press the #$
#$#$
#$ buttons to select
the desired setting.
This setting will be used until you change it.
Changing Image Confir-
mation Time (LCD CON-
FIRM.)
Immediately after pressing the shutter button,
the still image taken is displayed for a
moment so you can check it.
At purchase, Confirmation Time is set to one
second, but this can be changed.
To change Confirmation Time, follow the
steps below.
1. Turn the Mode Dial to 1

[LCD CONFIRM.].
3. Press the #$

#$ buttons to select
the desired setting.
This setting will be used for shooting until
you change it.
Start sound : Sound when the camera power is turned
on.
Shutter release
sound
: When the shutter release button is
pressed, the camera generates the shut-
ter sound ('click' sound for still image
shooting and 'blip' sound for SCONT/
MCONT shooting).
Focus sound : When the focus is set, the camera gener-
ates the focus sound (blip-blip).
Beep sound : If an impossible operation is attempted,
the camera generates the beep sound
(blip-blip-blip-blip-blip).
Possible Settings
SHUTTER (Shutter and beep sounds only)
ON (all sounds on) *Initial setting at purchase
OFF (all sounds off)
