8.3.2 Changing the engine oil and filter
Change the oil more often if the vehicle is used in extreme conditions such as extreme dust, frequent slow or low-speed
use or frequent short trips.
Before you begin: Run engine to warm the oil and park it safely.
1. Clean the drain plug (1) and the area
around it.
2. Place a drain pan under the oil drain
location:
3. Remove the drain plug to drain the oil.
4. Remove the oil filter (2) by turning it
counterclockwise.
5. Apply a film of clean engine oil on the
seal of the new filter.
6. Install the new filter. Turn the filter until
the seal contacts the mounting surface.
Tighten 1/2-3/4 turn after gasket contact.
7. Install drain plug.
8. Remove filler cap. Add approximately 4.8
litre of oil.

10. Install and tighten the filler cap.
11. Run the engine at slow speed for two
minutes. Check for leaks around the
filter.
12. Stop the engine, wait a few minutes
and check oil level again. Add oil if
necessary. Do not overfill.
