Recording a record
Here’s how to record the sound of a record.
You can connect a record player directly to the CD-2i. If your record player has a phono
equalizer, refer to “Recording a cassette or MD” (Page 52).
* If you encounter a problem with noise or distortion, see “The recorded sound is noisy or
distorted” (Page 130).

Connect your audio device (e.g., cassette deck) to the CD-2i’s LINE/
PHONO IN jacks.
Use audio cables to connect the CD-2i’s LINE/PHONO IN jacks to the output jacks of
your audio device (e.g., cassette deck).

* The grounding wire from your record player should be connected to the ground terminal on the
side of the CD-2i.

Press the [MENU] button to access the menu screen and select “LINE/
PHONO Input.“

Press the [MENU] button to access the menu screen.
Use the [ ] [ ] buttons to choose “LINE/PHONO
Input.”
Press the [ENTER] button to confirm your choice.
Use the [+] [-] buttons to change the value to select
“PHONO.“
* With the factory settings, this is set to Line.
