The IP address of this machine can be assigned automatically from a DHCP server. If there is a DHCP server
on your local network, no network settings are required. After connecting a LAN cable, carry out Setting
the Software RIP(P. 55) on the computer you are using.
However, it takes time to assign the IP address if there is no DHCP server. If the message [Connection is
requiring too much time. Manually setting the IP address will improve the connection speed.] appears
when you tap , carry out Setting a Fixed IP Address(P. 45).
When connecting the computer and the machine directly, carry out Directly Connecting to the Computer(P.
47).
If the computer you're using is connected to a number of networked devices or to the Internet, incorrect
settings may adversely affect the entire network. For detailed information about the settings, consult your
network administrator.
