Rewind
starter:
Check cord
condirion
every 10
hours. Replace
when
wom
or frayed.
To
change
the safter rope,
follow
the
procedure
outlined
(the
numbers
stated in
brackets
refer
to the illustrarion).
First remove
the rewind
starte! assembly
from
the
engine.
Second,
remove rhe
snap ring
(0,
loop
spring O, circlip
O,
pawl
lock
@, and
the
pawl
6.
Pull
out the
starter rope fully
to
the end,
hold
staner housing
O and
rope
sheave
O
together
in
rheir
posirion.
Therc
is an
opening
in the
rcpe sheave.
The
key
clamp
O visible
in
the
opening
has
to be
pushed
out in the
opposite
sense of the pul
ling
dircction.
pull
the rope
out
ofthe
ropi
sheave.
Then
insert
the new
staner rope
into
the rope
sheave,
fir the
key
clamp
in the
same position
as
ir
was and push
ir ro
be tight.
Refir
the
pans
