A
AWG American Wire Gauge. A means of specifying wire diameters.

DHCP Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. A protocol for assigning dynamic IP
addresses to devices on a network. With dynamic addressing, a device
can have a different IP address every time it connects to the network.

GMDSS Global Maritime Distress and Safety System. The system is intended to
perform the following functions: alerting (including position
determination of the unit in distress), search and rescue coordination,
locating (homing), maritime safety information broadcasts, general
communication, and bridge-to-bridge communication.
GND Ground

IEC International Electrotechnical Commission. The international standards
and conformity assessment body for all fields of electrotechnology.
IP Ingress Protection. An international classification system for the sealing
effectiveness of enclosures of electrical equipment against the intrusion
into the equipment of foreign bodies (i.e. tools, dust, fingers) and
moisture. This classification system uses the letters "IP" followed by two
or three digits. An "x" is used for one of the digits if there is only one class
of protection; e.g. IPX4 which addresses moisture resistance only.
