APPENDIX C
C.2 Revised 3/30/2010
Notes for Proper Coverslipping Operating
Put a sufficient amount of clearing agent
(mainly xylene) in the loading station to
prevent tissues from drying up.
Determine the operating conditions after a
coverslipping test.
The operating conditions of the
system vary depending on the tissues on the slide.
Conduct a physical coverslipping test using the system
before determining the operating conditions.
Paste tissues at the center of the pasting
position on the cover glass.
This system does
not provide a function for checking the position of pasted
tissues on the glass slide. When pasting tissues on the
glass slide, make sure tissues are aligned at the center of
the cover glass (indicated by *) by taking into account the
settings of the cover glass used.
The shaded area indicates the pasting position on each
cover glass.
