- Position the pump (12) under the machine at a
distance of not more than 39,4 in, keeping a
distance between the pump and the external walls
of at least 2 in to prevent transmission of vibration
and allow proper air recirculation.
- Connect the pipe (7) that comes out of the
machine to the pump delivery union (12).
- Connect the pipe (11) provided to the pump
intake union and the other end to a softener (8)
with the impurity lter (9) between them.
- Before the softener (8), install a shuttering tap (10)
to separate the water system from the machine.
- Connect the pump connector (14) to the preset
connector (13) that comes out of the machine.
For installation, use and
maintenance of the softener, see the
relevant instruction manual.

7.2 WARNINGS FOR A CORRECT USE OF ROTARY
PUMPS
1) Proper alignment of pump and motor
Sometimes the noise of a unit is caused by a poor
alignment. When the coupling between motor
and pump is rigid, the pump rotor and the motor
rotor may not be on the same axis. If this condition
persists, the most frequent damage is the pump
lock. To avoid this problem, it is possible to operate
effectively by placing an elastic joint between the
pump with clamp connection and the motor; for
this purpose, a kit p/n 10051020 is available as
accessory
Cod. 10051020
2) Quality of Water
The working tolerances and the materials used for
the rotary vane pumps are such as to require a
quality of water that is as clean as possible and in
any case free of suspended particles. Sand, deposits
on connecting pipes or the resins of the softener,
when owing through the pump, may scratch the
graphite parts causing pressure and ow rate
problems.
If there is no guarantee of clean and therefore not
“contaminable” water within a closed circuit, we
recommend placing a lter of 5 or 10 microns
between the softener and the pump.
It is also important to keep the lter clean. If the
lter upstream of the pump is clogged, it creates
cavitation and the pump will break shortly (see
section 4).
If a feed tank is used, to avoid the suction of any
sediment, we recommend placing the oat a few
centimetres above the bottom.
