10.4 COFFEE PREPARATION
General rules for the preparation of a good coffee.
The cup must be hot so take it from the cup heating
plate or, if cold, rinse it with hot water.
If the cup is cold the sudden change of temperature
of the espresso changes its taste.
Never load the lter holder without immediately after
dispensing it; the coffee powder would "burn" in the
unit and the espresso would be very bitter.
It is advisable to grind the quantity of coffee needed
for immediate consumption; ground coffee left for
a long time loses its aromatic qualities and the fatty
substances it contains go rancid.
Coffee dispensing
Remove the lter holder (1) from the dispensing unit
by rotating it in the direction of the arrow, turn it
upside down and tap it on the special used coffee
container (2) to discharge the contained grounds.
ATTENTION: Do not tap the lter
holder on an unprotected surface,
the lter may be damaged and the
seal may be compromised.
- Use the lter for one coffee (3) or two coffees (4)
as required.
- Place the correct amount of coffee in the lter
holder.
- Press the coffee with the presser (5).
- Clean the edge (6) of the lter holder; leaving
coffee powder on the edge of the lter
compromises the seal and results in water and
coffee ground leakage.
