5 From the ribbon supply spindle, pass the carbon ribbon underneath the thermal head to the
ribbon take-up spindle.
Wind the ribbon around the take-up reel several times in the direction of the arrow.
Confirm that the ribbon has been loaded as shown in the figure below when viewed from the side.
• The thermal head and the surrounding area will become hot immediately after a printing operation. Take
care not to burn yourself if you need to replace the carbon ribbon immediately after a printing operation.
•Touching the edge of the thermal head with your bare hands may result in injury.
