Enjoying the surround sound
Normal/Phantom/Bypass mode
When playing sound sources that have the or trademark, you
can enjoy Dolby surround sound.
Normal mode:
When you play a sound source that has the (5.1 channels) or
trademark, you can enjoy surround sound using all 5 speakers.
Surround operation
– Enjoying the surround sound –
Phantom mode:
When you play a sound source that has the or trademark,
you can enjoy surround sound using 4 speakers, but not the centre speaker.
When playing a disc with the trademark, you can enjoy realistic, powerful
sound by playing back the recorded signal through 5 speakers with the sound coming
from the front left, front right, centre, surround left and surround right speakers.
To listen to a disc in the Dolby Digital mode

Press the ON/STAND-BY button to turn the power on.
2 Press the DVD/CD button.
3 Load the DVD disc (s).
4 Press the

0 button to start playback.
Note:
When in the Dolby Digital surround mode, the equaliser will be set to FLAT.
