Useful adjustment settings
Allows you to use a secret number to protect certain
settings from being accidentally changed.
IMPORTANT:
Three conditions must be met to enable the V-Chip (see
pages 41 to 46):
Secret No. is registered.
V-Chip/V-Chip (DTV Only) settings have been
made.
"Status" is set to "On".
Setting a secret number
Press MENU to display the MENU screen,
and then press _11/_ to select "Setup".
Press A/Y to select "Parental CTRL", and
then press ENTER.
Press A/Y to select "Secret No.", and then
press ENTER.
Input the same 4-digit number on the
"Reconfirm" screen as in step 4 to confirm.
New Secret No.
Press RETURN to start configuring the V-Chip
settings. (See pages 44 and 46 for details.)
Press MENU to exit.
Setting parental control status
Used to enable or disable the parental control function.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 in Setting a secret
number.
,, Thesecret numbersetting menudisplays.
Input the 4-digit secret number by using 0-9.
Press A/Y to select "Status", and then press
ENTER.
Select "New Secret No.", and then press
ENTER.
Input the new 4-digit secret number by using 0
--9=
New Secret No.
Press _/_ to select "On" or "Off", and then
press ENTER.
,, Select "On" to enableand "Off" to disable Parental
CTRL.
Status
On
Press MENU to exit.
., You can skip steps 1 and 2 above while in the Parental
CTRL screen.
., The "V-Chip (DTV Only)" will only be selectable when a new
rating system can be downloaded via digital broadcasting
in the U.S.
