4.4.4 Example for maximum usable protective field length and stopping distance
Fork length L
F
ork
= 200 cm
Distance S3000–front of shelf 150 cm
The maximum protective field length that can be used for the stopping distance
including the brake supplement and the fork length in accordance with Tab. 1 is here:
L
use
= L
max
– S
PF
= 623 cm – 93 cm = 530 cm.
From the protective field length L
use
, after the deduction of the fork length and based on
t
he maximum stopping distance of the industrial truck for the narrow aisle width given,
including the response time of the sensor and controller and the factor for brake wear
of 1.1, the following is found:
L
S
top
(L
u
se
– L
F
ork
) : 1.1 (530 – 200) : 1.1 = 300 cm.
4.4.5 Example for protective field configuration for single-sided narrow aisle
situation
In applications with a single-sided narrow aisle situation (see Fig. 5), the S3000 can be
programmed on the open side to have a half protective field width of 7 m.
The maximum protective field lengths allowed outside a narrow aisle reduce to values
defined in Tab. 4 and shown in Fig. 4 due to the resolution of the S3000.
Half protective field width W [cm] Maximum protective field length [cm]
W 100 690
100 < W 150 680
150 < W 200 670
200 < W 250 650
250 < W 300 630
300 < W 350 605
350 < W < 400 570
Depending on the distance from the middle of the S3000 to the front of the shelf, the
supplement S
PF
is to be added to the necessary protective field length as per Tab. 1.
A supplement of S
W
= 10.0 cm is to be added to the protective field width on the open
side. This supplement takes into account the maximum measurement error on the
S3000 and is independent of the protective field length.
