4.7.3 Explosion-Proof Methanator
The more recent version of the methanator is designed with an explosion proof/flameproof
enclosure as described in the
Safety Protection Principles
section of this manual. This design
eliminates the need to maintain a pressurized methanator enclosure as well as reducing some
of the necessary safety measures required for maintenance of the Maxum II when a
methanator is installed.
