7.6 Configuring the fire network
This configuration task is performed in Composer on a project created for the
NK8237 gateway starting from an empty template to which a Modbus system and
an NK8237 unit have been added.
The communication between FS20/FS720 and NK8237 is based on BACnet/IP.
Communication parameters have to be configured on FS20/FS720 and NK8237
consistently.
Each FS20/FS720 station needs to be equipped with a FCA2013-A1 License
key L2 (A5Q00018857) for enabling the BACnet protocol..
7.6.1 Fire system configuration procedure
Adding the folder for the FS20/FS720 system
1. Select the main node of the project.
2. In the toolbar on the left, click the Generic Template icon
.
A new folder is added to the project structure.
By default, the new node is named “Generic Node #1”.
3. Rename the folder node and enter e.g. “Fire System”.
Adding the FS20/FS720 system node
1. Select the fire system folder.
2. In the toolbar on the left, select the Fire folder icon
.
3. In the menu that appears, select the FS20 system icon
to add a new
FS20/FS720 system.
A new node is added to the project structure.
By default, the new node is named “FS20 System #1”.
4. If necessary, you can rename the FS20 System node.
Importing the FS20/FS720 configuration metafile (SiB-X)
1. Select the FS20 node.
2. Select Tools Import in the Composer menu to start importing.
The software presents a browsing window to search for the file to import (a SiB-
X file with extension XML is expected).
3. Using standard Windows controls, do the following:
Locate the XML file.
Select it and click Open.
A new window appears, displaying the list of control units included in the system
and represented in the SiB-X file (Fig. 30).
