Cross-tip screwdriver size 4
Open ring wrench 20 mm
Screwdriver with 3 mm blade
Small knife, diagonal cutter or FC stripping tool

For secure connection of the wires in the screw-type terminals, observe the following
stripping dimensions of the bus cables for the main lines and spur lines.

NOTICE
Bus system failure
If the event of a fault, the bus system may fail completely or partially.
Before you commission a plant with ring redundancy, check the redundancy function by
means of a line interruption/short circuit or by opening the IP30 covers on each AFD4 /
AFD4 (FM) / AFD8 (opening the IP30 covers is also interpreted as a fault).

NOTICE
Fault on the main line due to connection of spur lines
If a plant is already in operation, first connect the spur lines to the field devices followed by
the main lines. This sequence reduces interference on the main line.
