1. The AFD4 (FM) (MLFB = 6ES7655-5DX40-1AA1) is only suitable for installation in DIV. 2
/ Zone 2 locations, and is not suitable for installation in DIV. 1 / Zone 1 or Zone 0
hazardous (classified) locations.
2. AFD4 (FM) and all other approved devices in the fieldbus system must be installed in
accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
3. Replace blank out panels (caps) by UL or CSA approved lead-throughs for connection of
more field devices. Customer has to use a gland and cable "listed for the application"
based on the NEC and CEC. Installations shall comply with the relevant requirements of
the National Electrical Code® (ANSI/NFPA-70 (NEC®), where applicable.
4. WARNING FOR APPLICATIONS IN DIV. 2 / ZONE 2 (CLASSIFIED) LOCATIONS:
EXPLOSION HAZARD. EXCEPT FOR SPUR LINES (FIELD DEVICES), DO NOT
CONNECT OR DISCONNECT ANY TRUNK LINE UNLESS THE AREA IS KNOWN TO
BE NONHAZARDOUS.
