Configuring startup behavior
You configure the behavior of the CPU in the Startup group of the CPU properties.
Setting the startup behavior
To set the startup characteristics, follow these steps:
1. Select the CPU in the device view of the hardware network editor of STEP 7.
2. In the properties, select the "Startup" area.
Figure 8-4 Setting the startup characteristics
Sets the startup type after POWER ON
Defines the startup behavior for the case where a module in a slot does not correspond
to the configured module. This parameter applies to the CPU and to all the modules for
which you have not selected any other se
tting.
Startup CPU only if compatible: In this setting a module on a configured slot has to be
compatible with the configured module. Compatible means that the module matches
the configured module in terms of:
â—‹ Number of inputs/outputs
â—‹ Electrical and functional properties
Startup CPU even if mismatch: At this setting the CPU starts up irrespective of the
type of module plugged.
Specifies a maximum period (default: 60
000 ms) in which the I/O must be ready for op-
eration. The CPU changes to RUN.
e central and distributed I/O are not ready for operation within the configuration time,
the startup characteristics of the CPU depend on the setting of the "Comparison preset
to actual configuration" parameter.
