7.4 Removing and installing hardware

7.4.8 Replace the adapter module for the removable tray
Requirement
● The device is equipped with the drive cage type A.
● The device is fully disconnected from the mains voltage; see section "Switching off the
device (Page 63)".
● The device is open; see section "Open the device (Page 76)".
● All slot covers and removable trays have been removed.
Procedure
Removal
1. Note the assignment of all SATA cables and detach all the SATA cables ①.
2. Unlatch the adapter module for the removable rack unit by firmly pressing on the latches
② in the direction of the arrow and pressing on the ejector ③.
3. Loosen the unlatched adapter module
④ by rotating it upwards from the brackets and
take it out of the drive cage.
Installation
1. Insert the new adapter module for removable rack unit ④ into the drive bay from the front
and snap it into place at the back, see section "Installing a hard disk drive or SSD in slot 0
to 2 (Page 89)".
