4.4.7 Setting the uninterruptible power supply
A UPS ensures that the HMI device is shut down in a controlled manner after a configurable
buffer time in the event of a power failure. This avoids the loss of data. Connect the UPS to
the USB port of the HMI device.
You can also configure a message or controlled shutdown of the HMI device if the UBS port
is faulty.
SITOP DC UPS modules as of a rated power of 6 A, for example 6EP1931-2DC42 are
supported as an uninterruptible power supply.
Requirement
The Control Panel is open.
The UPS is connected to the 24-V input and to the HMI device's USB port.
The "Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) with USB support" option is transferred to the
HMI device with ProSave.
Procedure
Proceed as follows:
1. Open the "UPS Properties" dialog with the UPS icon.
2. Open the "Configuration" tab.
