4.4.15 Restoring from external storage device
Introduction
A restore operation deletes the internal memory of the HMI device upon confirmation. The
content of the backup file is then copied from the external storage medium into the internal
memory of the HMI device. The HMI device is then restarted.
The following external storage media can be used:
● Memory card
● USB storage medium, for example USB stick
Requirement
● The external memory with the backup file is inserted in the HMI device.
● The Control Panel is open.
NOTICE
Loss of data possible
All data on the HMI device will be deleted during a restore operation. License keys are
deleted after counter-inquiry.
Back up the HMI device's data before restoring if required.
Procedure
Proceed as follows:
1. Open the "Backup/Restore" dialog with the Backup/Restore icon.
The available external storage media are shown in the list.
2. Select the desired external storage medium and press "Backup/Restore".
