9.3 Diagnostics
9.3.1 Diagnostic information via Diagnostics Tool
You can use a diagnostics tool (s7_swcpu_diagnosis) to check the state of the base image of
the CPU. The Diagnostics Tool checks the following parameters:
Compatibility of the partition with other hard disks
Partition size
Files of the CPU
GRUB installation
Memory areas of the hardware configuration
Siemens-specific values on the System Management BIOS (SMBIOS)
Kernel of the Linux operating system
Communication channels between the Linux operating system and the CPU
Requirement
The third partition "/dev/sda3" is mounted in the file system.
Procedure
To use the Diagnostics Tool, proceed as follows:
1. Change your working directory.
pt1@debian:~# cd /opt/SIEMENS/SWCPU/bin
2. List the contents of the directory with the command "ls -l".
pt1@debian:/opt/SIEMENS/SWCPU/bin# ls -l
The Diagnostics Tools are displayed in the terminal.
3. To start the Diagnostics Tool, run the command "./s7_swcpu_diagnosis".
pt1@debian:/opt/SIEMENS/SWCPU/bin# ./s7_swcpu_diagnosis
Note
Call infotext in the command line
If you specify the parameter "
-h" or no parameter after the "./s7_swcpu_diagnosis"
command, a list with the permitted parameters and a description opens.
4. Enter the path you want to check.
